Repeat Sequence ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Applies the sequence that was set using Set Sequence to any member that you select.

In this example , Set Sequence followed by Repeat Sequence are used to change the sequence of a member ( B_4 ) from 1 to 2 .
  • Repeat Sequence is a part of Sequence Mode . Back in the 20th century, Sequence Mode let you middle-click ( Repeat ) to simultaneously invoke Repeat Sequence and apply the sequence to the member clicked on. Now an extra step is needed to locate the member.
  • Be careful. If the setup option " Break member piecemarks apart by " is set to ' Sequence ' or ' Zone ', some members may be assigned new piecemarks as you change their sequences.
  • See the step-by-step instructions .

   Step-by-step instructions :

The following instructions assume that using a 3-button mouse. You can optionally preselect a member, but that is not discussed in these instructions.

1 . Before using this tool:

1a : The " Maximum sequences " must be set to a number greater than ' 1 ' if you want to be able to change sequences. Also, you should do a Set Sequence first. If no sequence has been set (using Set Sequence ) during your current session of Modeling , Repeat Sequence applies the sequence listed on line 1 of Home > Project Settings > Job > Zone and Sequence > press " Sequence Names " > Sequence Names .

Select Items bindings (step 1b)

2 . Invoke Repeat Sequence using any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : With Sequence Mode mouse bindings active, place the mouse pointer ( ) on the member you want to apply the sequence to, then middle-click ( Repeat ).

Methods 2, 3 & 4 : A Repeat Sequence icon can be added to your toolbar (classic) or ribbon (lightning). The icon, keyboard shortcut or context menu command can be found in the group named ' Model -- Member '. For lightning, Customize Interface is used to configure ribbons, keyboards, the context menu and modes.

Method 5 : Choose Model > Member > Sequence > Repeat Sequence (classic).

3 . The status line prompts you to " Select member to sequence ."

Select One Item bindings

3a : Select One Item mouse bindings are activated so that you can left-click ( Select ) the member you want. This prompting also occurs when more than one member is selected or when a submaterial (rather than a member) is selected.

4 . The sequence that was last set using Set Sequence (or the sequence in line 1 on the Sequence Names list) is applied to the selected member.

The status line reports the piecemark (if one has been assigned) and member number of the member you selected along with the member's new and old sequence.

The mouse bindings that were active before you invoked Repeat Sequence become active again.
